Official transport supplier of Mt Hutt

Mt Hutt Ski Bus provides a daily service to Mt Hutt Ski Area from Methven - a seamless transport service for skiers and snowboarders.

Services depart daily at 7:45am, 9:45am (book online up until 30 minutes prior to travel) we also offer a 11.30am service HOWEVER this only operates on Saturday, Sunday and during school holidays (bookings essential by 5.00pm the evening before travel)  from the Methven Heritage Centre (160 Main Street, Methven) which is the home of Methven Travel, the Methven i-SITE Visitor Centre, and the Mt Hutt Snow Centre.

The Ski Buses also provide pick ups from accommodation around Methven before heading up to Mt Hutt Ski Area.

At the end of the day you can depart Mt Hutt Ski Area at 3:00pm (subject to numbers) or 4:15pm, a 1.00pm service also operates (subject to numbers) on Saturday, Sunday and during school holidays.

Drops off at your accommodation on your return to Methven are available.

Our daily service costs $20.00 per person (return).

Pre-bookings essential to ensure your seat. We cannot guarantee a seat if you have not pre-booked.

Return services from Mt Hutt ensure all clients that Methven Travel transported up are returned.

*For the 11:30 am and 1:00 pm ski buses NOTE these services only operate Saturday, Sunday and school holidays, bookings are required by 5 pm the day prior or we may choose not to run the service. If the 11:30 am and 1:00 pm services are running and have bookings, the online booking system will be open for further bookings up until 30 minutes prior to departure.

All services are subject to availability and mountain conditions on the day.

Mt Hutt Ski Bus is part of Methven and Mt Hutt's Kids 4 Free campaign. One full paying adult travelling on our Methven to Mt Hutt service entitles one child to a free fare. Promotion is valid throughout the 2018 ski season and applies to children 10 years and under as of the 1st June 2018. Promotion is not available in conjunction with any other special, discount or group offer. Proof of child’s age may be required at time of check in or other services provided.

We are also able to provide ski bus transport for large groups.  Please contact us for more information & bookings.

Mt Hutt Departures

We depart Mt Hutt at 3.00pm (subject to numbers) and 4:15pm for the info booth and on to Methven. Drops off to the above accommodation are available.

Please note - you do not need to book the return trip, just turn up at the bus 10 minutes before departure.

Our Coaches
  • Ski Bus InteriorOur Coaches are set up for the Mt Hutt Ski Field Road with 3 sets of single Ice Breaker chains and a set of double chains for use on snow and ice.

  • Skis and boards are contained in lockers to prevent them getting dirty & dusty.

  • Our Coaches are equipped with special diesel heaters for the cold days to provide you with a comfortable experience on your journey to and from Mt Hutt.

Our Drivers

Our drivers go through intensive in-house training to familiarise them with the ski field access road and to make sure chains are fitted properly.
